ABOUT US:
KGUR Radio is a no playlist radio station in the heart of San Luis Obispo, CA. On the wonderful campus of Cuesta College, we have a variety of different opportunities. The Film, TV and Electronic Media Department is full of talented students, and their shows are recorded and replayed over the semesters. Our radio hosts have a mission. Let the music play!
We have been broadcasting since 1973 when Eugene Sheldon and Ed English started the communications department, and when Bob Hartwig founded KGUR shortly after. That is over 50 years of non-stop music! It is an honor to have been labeled “The Voice of the Students of SLO County”. Down below is little preview of what you can expect to find at KGUR. We have a tight knit group of fellows here, dedicated DJs who have one main goal, and that is to give you the best music on the Central Coast of California. We hope you enjoy.
FEATURED SHOWS
Our DJs record their shows and upload them to YouTube and streaming platforms, so they can listen back and put themselves in the shoes of the listener. It helps them become more in tune with radio, and broadens their minds. This opens them up to many opportunities.
The cool news is that you can listen to them too! Here are a few of today’s featured shows!
SONG REQUESTS
Since 2017, KGUR has been taking in song requests from all over the globe. If you got a killer song and you want to share it with the world, send it on in. We are a no-playlist radio station! That means we can play anything! If you don’t want to call, you can leave it in the comment sections of our social media. You can also leave a comment below on this website! Make sure to include a name, the artist/musician and song title, and we will give you a holler when it airs.
We also now have a live request line, call in and leave us a message! If you call during our Special Request Hour, we will air the call on the radio!
Special Request Hour times and days will be released soon, stay tuned!
